Destinations:

Iceland Photography: Iceland is fast becoming one of the world's most sought after destinations, from unique flora and fauna to majestic waterfalls, spectacular views, imposing mountains and the famous northern lights, Iceland has them all!

Owyhee River Rafting: Few people have had the pleasure of descending into the Owyhee River Canyon, one of the country’s secret gems of wilderness multi-day river rafting. The Wild and Scenic Rivers Act has protected over 120 miles of the Owyhee River from development since 1984. Often called Oregon’s Grand Canyon, the Owyhee River contains thrilling Class III rapids in a deep, desert canyon. Bighorn sheep and cougars wander through sagebrush at the base of sheer-walled volcanic canyon walls, nearly twice the height of the Washington Monument. Guides point out herds of antelope, birds of prey and other distinct wildlife who visit the river for sustenance. Add in stellar archaeological sites and hot springs, and this trip fulfills all the requirements for one of the world’s greatest river journeys.

Hawaiian trappers were first sent into the canyon in 1820, never to return. The harsh environment and difficult rapids proved treacherous for future explorations, allowing the region to remain untouched for generations. While miners ventured into the deep layers of basalt, few others have experienced the intrigue of the Owyhee River wilderness. The only way to see the depths of the colorful Owyhee Wilderness is on a multi-day raft trip down the river.

Our trip begins 5 days travel upstream from Leslie Gulch. Each day you’ll drift deeper into the wilderness, and deeper into your relaxing river routine. You will calmly float along the river’s path in between the exciting Class III rapids scattered throughout the entire 5 day trip. A riverside lunch, prepared by your guides, will replenish energy levels for the afternoon. Pulling into a favorite camp site, your guides set up the kitchen with captivating scenery all around. In places like Jackson Creek, Chalk Basin and Green Dragon Canyon, you’ll find colorful side canyons, stunning waterfalls, and scenic ridgelines with amazing views of the river below. Take a hike up a side creek, relax on the beach with a good book, or explore nearby hot springs for a dip in Mother Nature’s hot tub.

Germany: Krampus Festival: The holiday season is already bright and warm and festive, but throw in the German twist and you have some of the most beautifl sceneries you have ever seen! If you have been to a holiday market in Germany, then you know how special it is; and if you haven't, now is the chance for you to see three of them! We will explore the giant and colorful market in Munich that takes you through the shopping district to the famous Glockenspiel. This trip will also take us down to the incredible Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, nestled in the Alps right under the glorious Zugspites Mountain. Enjoy a few days of the festival, hiking through the Partnach Gorge, even taking the tram to the top of the glacier. Let's not forget about the Austrian town of Berchtesgaden where we can visit the Eagle's Nest, and most importantly, experience the unique Krampus Festival; watching Saint Nicholas and his watchful demons prance around while sipping hot Gluwein at the local festival!

Denali Expedition: Formerly known as Mount McKinley, the highest mountain in North America has been the goal of aspiring high-altitude climbers since it was first climbed in 1913. Its reputation as a highly coveted summit derives from its location near the Arctic Circle and the Pacific Ocean (Gulf of Alaska) giving it some of the most ferocious weather in the world. Because of its notorious weather and ease of access, some climbers use Denali as a training ground for climbing the 8,000 meter peaks of the Himalaya and for extended expeditions in the Arctic or Antarctic. And for all you peak baggers out there, Denali is the highpoint of the Denali Borough, the state of Alaska, the United States, the Alaska Range, and North America.
Denali offers one of the world's greatest expedition challenges. While it is exceeded in elevation by peaks in South America and Asia, its great height above the Alaskan plain make it a severe test of personal strength, team work, and logistics. No peak in the world has greater relief: Denali rises 17,000 feet above its surrounding plain, Kilimanjaro 14,000 feet, and Everest 13,000 feet. Vertical elevation gain on Everest from the normal base camp for the South Col route is 11,000 feet; from the landing spot on the Kahiltna Glacier Denali's summit rises another 13,000 feet. Further, the mountain (and all mountains this far north or south) behaves like it's taller than it really is --- the reason being that the barometric pressure in the northern/southern latitudes is less than at the equator which makes climbers feel higher than they really are.
West Buttress and the climb is undoubtedly considered as an exceptional mountaineering challenge. Nowhere in the world does one travel with so much gear over so much vertical in such a hostile environment. Although there are no technically difficult sections on the route, many stretches of "The Butt" leave very little margin for error (the lower glacier in warm conditions, Windy Corner, the Autobahn, Denali Pass, and the Summit Ridge). Furthermore, the West Buttress is just as exposed as any other route to Denali's legendary weather. Prospective climbers should be highly competent in travel on moderately steep snow/ice slopes and exposed traverses.

Red Rocks, Nevada: Rock climbing in Nevada's Red Rocks State Park near Las Vegas offers thousands of varied routes from small clifs to thousand foot multi-pitch outings, comfy ledges, lofty summits, and great views. The sandstone formations in the area are highly featured. This makes for great hand holds with plenty of edges and holes to climb on. The best easy to modreate multi-pitch rock routes in the world, combined with Nevada's mild winters, great fall and spring temperatures, and proxmity to Las Vegas make this a world class year around international rock climbing destination for beginners and experts. Every year people die because they underestimate the task at hand.
