Warrior Adventure Quest

The Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) was created in 2009 after a study was done looking at coping mechanisms expressed by individuals returning from deployments.  The study examined the adrenaline outputs necessary during deployment environments, to the environments of home life.  Thus came the WAQ program, providing safe, high adrenaline activities to assist with reintegration coping techniques.  It is also a commanders training tool, used to teach Soldier/Leader/Unit mitigation and comping skills that can address unresolved transition issues, thereby building unit cohesion, morale, and contributing to combat readiness.

This program is funded by big Army and is therefore without cost to participants. Units qualify within 120 days after deployments, 120 prior to deployments, and every 2 years if their unit doesn't deploy.  These guidelines must be discussed with an adventure program staff to ensure qualifications and steps needed to get involved.

Please contact us at jblmadventuretrips@gmail.com if you think your unit qualifies and would benefit from this opportunity.
